Guest Ticket Access & Portal
After you buy tickets â including as a guest â Ticketted helps you find them again and open a guest portal for wallet passes, PDFs, resends, and transfers (when allowed).
This guide is for attendees. Organisers: settings for guest checkout, transfers, and hiding tickets after the event ends are at the end.
Find your tickets
Go to the public Find tickets page (/find-tickets). Enter your email to request a magic link. The success message is always neutral â it never reveals whether tickets exist for that address.
- Magic links expire after 60 minutes and open a portal view via
/find-tickets/view?token= - Portal requests are rate-limited (5 per hour per email and per IP)
- This works for guest checkouts as well as signed-in purchases
Event page top bar
- Signed out: Find my tickets and Sign in
- Signed in: My Tickets and Sign out
Sign-in and sign-out preserve your place (including private-sale ?ps= and other redirect URLs).
Member pricing hint
If youâre signed out and a ticket has a member price, the page can show a hint like Members pay $X â Join free or Sign in so you know to join or sign in before checkout.
Guest portal
The guest portal lets you manage tickets for an email without a full account session. Access is secret-gated with a guest-checkout secret (minimum length enforced). The server looks up tickets for that email, returns a stable guest identity derived from a hash of the normalised email (trim + lowercase), and consolidates matching account tickets for the same address.
In strict production, a missing secret fails loudly rather than silently weakening the gate.
What you see
- Only valid and used tickets
- Tickets are hidden after the event ends (end time from date + start + duration, timezone-lenient; never hides early)
- Rows start collapsed; expand for QR and actions
- Times are timezone-aware
Wallet and PDF
Add to wallet / download PDF via signed links (time-limited; no Clerk session required). Exact eligibility for every ticket status is not listed here.
Resend tickets
The portal offers one consolidated âResend my ticketsâ action for all bookings for that email, with per-booking abuse controls and audit. Cap and slot mechanics stay light on purpose.
This page does not document a âsend to a different emailâ control on the portal UI. If you need a different address, use the options shown on the guest purchase-success screen when available.
Transfer from the portal
When transfers are allowed for the event and you own the ticket as a guest with a valid status, you can start a transfer:
- Create a transfer challenge (OTP handshake)
- Complete the guest transfer with the OTP
OTP lifetime is about 10 minutes, with a small max attempt count. Transfers also respect the eventâs transfers enabled setting (see organisers below).
Maps stay off until you ask
Event pages defer Maps / Street View until you click to load them. Crawlers are discouraged from hitting map endpoints, and the initial page load does not call event map APIs â so finding tickets and browsing the event stay fast.
For organisers
Guest checkout
Guest checkout requires both:
guest_checkout_enabledon the event (default off / undefined)- Environment
GUEST_CHECKOUT_ENABLEDtrue
GUEST_CHECKOUT_SECRET (min 16 characters) gates guest mutations and the portal / transfer paths.
Transfers
transfers_enabled on the event: undefined or true allows transfers; false blocks transfers from the portal and from /tickets.
Hide tickets after the event ends
Once the computed event end has passed, ticket lists hide for both /tickets and the guest portal (timezone-lenient; never hides early).
Good to know
- Keep using the same purchase email when you look up tickets so guest and account rows can consolidate correctly
- This page does not document magic-link crypto, guestâaccount merge after signup, support tooling after resend slots are exhausted, portal analytics, or every wallet/PDF/transfer eligibility edge case
