Connecting Stripe & Going Live with an Event

Step by step Instructions:
1. Open Ticketted and start the seller onboarding flow 0:01
- Go to ticketted.com and review the homepage.
- Click Start Selling in the top navigation.
- You’ll be redirected to the login page.
- Sign in with an existing account, or create a new one if needed.
- In the demo, the creator uses Continue with Google and selects their Google account.
2. Complete the onboarding checklist by creating your seller profile 0:56
- After signing in, you’ll land on the onboarding page with a checklist.
- The first required step is Create Seller Profile.
- Your seller profile is what event attendees will see as the organizer identity.
- Add as much detail as possible to build trust:
- Organizer/business name
- Description of what you do
- Contact email
- Phone number
- Website
- Terms and conditions
- Privacy policy
- Social links
- Choose a theme if desired, then click Create Profile.
3. Connect your payout account through Stripe 3:57
- The second onboarding step is Set up your payout account.
- Click the Stripe connection option and complete the requirements.
- You’ll be redirected to Stripe onboarding.
- If you already have a Stripe account, sign in and select it.
- If not, create a new Stripe account and continue through Stripe’s setup.
- Stripe may ask for:
- Business type
- Legal representative details
- Bank account details
- Contact details
- ID verification in some cases
- Ticketted does not store your personal Stripe information; Stripe handles that directly.
4. Create your first event in sandbox mode 6:39
- The third onboarding step is Create your first event in sandbox.
- Open Create New from the navbar to access the event creation page.
- The form on the left shows required sections with warning icons.
- Fill in the event basics:
- Event title
- Short description
- Watch the live preview on the right update in real time.
- This helps you see exactly how the event page will look.
5. Build a rich event description and choose a category 8:15
- The description editor supports rich formatting, including:
- Headings and subheadings
- Bold and italics
- Links
- Images and videos
- Tables
- Numbered and bullet lists
- Dividers
- Ticketted also includes AI writing tools to help generate content.
- Next, choose a category that best matches your event.
- Add any basic event info such as age restrictions or parking details.
- Save the basics to store the event in sandbox.
6. Add event details: agenda, date, venue, and ticket types 10:20
- Continue editing the draft event from Upcoming Events if needed.
- Add optional sections like:
- Lineups for speakers or performers
- Agenda for the event schedule
- Set the event date and time:
- Single-day or multi-day events are supported
- Choose start and end times
- Add a venue location.
- Configure tickets:
- Ticket sale end date
- Ticket types such as General Admission and VIP
- Price for each ticket type
- Total quantity available
- Maximum tickets per buyer
- Ticket images and descriptions
- You can also add add-ons if you want to sell extras like food or merch.
7. Configure checkout, fees, attendee fields, branding, and sponsors 13:52
- Decide whether to allow guest checkout.
- Choose how to handle fees before going live:
- Pass fees to buyers
- Split fees
- Absorb fees yourself
- Add promo codes if needed.
- Set attendee guidelines, such as arrival instructions or behavior expectations.
- Add custom form fields to collect extra attendee info like phone number or allergies.
- Fill in branding details:
- Terms and conditions
- Disclaimer
- Add sponsors if you want to highlight partners.
- Upload event media such as a cover image or seating map.
- Save branding when finished.
8. Review the event and choose public or private visibility 18:35
- Go to the Review page to verify all event settings.
- Use Edit if you need to change anything.
- Choose whether the event is:
- Public: listed on the site
- Private: unlisted and accessible only by direct link
- Save the event as a draft first if you want to finish later.
- You can publish it later from the Upcoming Events page.
9. View the event page and test the sandbox checkout 19:36
- Open the event from Upcoming Events and click View.
- The event page shows all configured details:
- Date and time
- Location and map button
- Description
- Good-to-know section
- Agenda
- Guidelines
- Terms and conditions
- Disclaimer
- Seller profile information
- The page is marked sandbox, meaning it is not live yet.
- Test the checkout flow by selecting tickets and proceeding to payment.
- Use the sandbox test code and a dummy postcode to complete the purchase.
- This confirms the checkout experience works as expected.
10. Switch the event to live and understand sandbox safety 21:49
- From the upcoming events page, click the option to switch to live.
- This will delete any test tickets purchased in sandbox.
- Verify the switch using the code sent to your email.
- Once verified, the event becomes live.
- You can then exit the dashboard and see the event listed publicly.
- If you switch back to sandbox, you’ll need to verify again.
- This verification step is a safety measure.
11. Wrap-up and support options 23:21
- In sandbox mode, the event will no longer appear on the public homepage.
- The video ends by confirming the full process for launching a first event.
