Dayseeker Kick Off Their 2027 in Perth

Post-hardcore is not, on paper, dad music. I own three A.R. Rahman albums on CD and a Nickelback problem I refuse to apologise for. But Dayseeker are the band that got me to admit a breakdown can be genuinely beautiful, usually about four seconds before my two-year-old asks me to turn it down. Perth, you don't have to turn it down. You get the very first night.

Why this run matters

Dayseeker are riding 'Creature In The Black Night', their sixth album, which picked up an Album Of The Year nomination at the 2026 Heavy Music Awards. These are their first Australian shows since Good Things 2025, and the band aren't underselling it: "These will be some of the biggest headlining shows of our career." They arrive a member lighter, too, after guitarist Gino Sgambelluri departed in November.

The support bill is not filler either. Silent Planet alone would fill a room, and scenestr's review of Dayseeker's last Tivoli show will talk you into the whole thing if I haven't yet.

How to actually get in

Perth's Metro City is a general-admission room, which means two things: no bad seat, and no seat at all. A few honest pointers for the on-sale:

• Buy direct. Destroy All Lines is the official seller, on-sale 12pm on 16 July. Anything claiming stock before then is fan fiction.
• Don't refresh. If there's a queue, hammering reload doesn't move you up and can flag you as a bot. Doing nothing is the winning move, which I've been rehearsing my whole adult life.
• Turn up early if the barrier's your thing. GA rewards the keen and the well-hydrated.
