Boyz II Men and Salt-N-Pepa Push It to Perth in 2026

Boyz II Men are bringing four decades of R&B harmonies to Perth, and they are not coming alone. Salt-N-Pepa and Bell Biv DeVoe are on the bill too, which makes this less a concert and more a '90s family reunion with a very good sound system. It all opens at RAC Arena on Thursday 26 November 2026, with tickets on sale at 11am local time on 17 July.

Three legends, one very stacked bill

Boyz II Men are, by the numbers, the best-selling R&B group of all time. The Philadelphia vocal harmony trio made "hip hop doo-wop" mainstream and broke all-time Billboard records, including a 16-week run at number one with Mariah Carey's 'One Sweet Day'. The catalogue barely needs an introduction: 'End Of The Road', "I'll Make Love To You", 'On Bended Knee', 'Motownphilly', 'Water Runs Dry', 'A Song For Mama' and '4 Seasons Of Loneliness'. It is still Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanyá Morris, together since the late '80s, with 15 studio albums to their name, the most recent being 2017's 'Under the Streetlight'.

Salt-N-Pepa were the first female rap act to earn gold and platinum records, and in 2025 became the first female hip hop act inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. 'Push It' and 'Shoop' laid the foundation for generations of female rappers. Salt, aka Cheryl Renee James, is philosophical about the milestones. "We've gotten all the awards. They ran out. There's no more. They're all over my shelves," she told scenestr, laughing. "The NAACP Award, the Walk of Fame, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I could go on and on."

On the reunion itself, she is clear-eyed and very funny about the passage of time. "It's kind of stepping back into the '90s, but it's also something entirely different. We're more mature now. The parties aren't going on. The late nights aren't going on. There are wives, husbands, children and grandchildren now." The music, though, has not aged. "We were having so much fun back then. I think people can feel that in the music. The kids hear that. They feel it in their souls."

Bell Biv DeVoe round out the bill. Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe pioneered the new jack swing movement, blending R&B harmonies, hip hop beats and pop melodies into a sound that reshaped the '90s. Their quadruple-platinum debut 'Poison' was a genuine cultural phenomenon.
