Luka Šulić Takes the Enmore With a Cello and a Nine-Piece Orchestra

You have probably heard Luka Šulić without knowing his name. He is one half of 2CELLOS, the man who proved a cello can handle AC/DC as happily as it does Bach. Now he is touring on his own, and Sydney gets the Sunday of it: Luka Šulić plays the Enmore Theatre on Sunday 6 December 2026, backed by a nine-piece orchestra.

A Sunday show at the Enmore is a civilised proposition: home at a reasonable hour, functional by Monday. Mostly.

Why the fuss

Šulić helped revolutionise the cello in modern pop culture, and this is his first Australian show since the 2CELLOS farewell tour in 2022. After stepping away from the duo to focus on his young family, the Croatian-Slovenian cellist pivoted to his own original compositions and classical arrangements, releasing the album 'Life' in 2024.

His taste runs from Beethoven to the pop producer Max Martin, and the live show reflects it. Expect reinterpreted versions of Michael Jackson's 'Smooth Criminal', AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck', Rihanna's 'We Found Love' and Kings of Leon's 'Use Somebody', alongside his own work. A cello doing 'Thunderstruck' should not work as well as it does.

He has also just finished a new record, and he is not pretending it was quick.

One honest bit of advice for a show like this: pay up for the good seats. A single cello and a nine-piece orchestra reward a listener sitting close, and the back of the Enmore is where the detail gets lost. This is not the night to save twenty dollars.
