Sleep Theory Land at The Gov, Adelaide on Their First Aussie Run
Sleep Theory are finally making it to Adelaide, and they have picked The Gov to do it. The Memphis metalcore outfit play the Hindmarsh institution on Wednesday 10 February 2027, with Los Angeles duo RIVALS opening, as part of their first ever Australian tour. Here is the short version for the diary: it is one Adelaide date, a Wednesday night at The Gov, and tickets go on sale at 9am local time on 31 July. Below is who they are, who is supporting, every stop on the tour, and how to make sure you are actually in the room.

Tickets via Destroy All Lines"For the first time ever, we're coming to AUSTRALIA this February with RIVALS. We can't wait to see you," posted the band, fresh off winning Best Breakthrough Album at the 2026 Heavy Music Awards. The Gov has hosted a lot of first Adelaide shows that people later claim they were at. This is a good one to genuinely be at.
Who are Sleep Theory
Sleep Theory are an American metalcore and nu metal band from Memphis, known for lacing R&B and pop hooks through the heavy end and making it land. They are the band behind 'Static', 'Numb' and 'Stuck In My Head', and since their 2023 debut EP 'Paper Hearts' they have drawn praise from Jelly Roll and Disturbed's David Draiman, and shared stages with Shinedown, Falling In Reverse, Beartooth, Nothing More, Wage War, Set It Off and Daughtry. A fast rise, and Adelaide gets it early.
Earlier this month they dropped a three-song covers EP, '(E)motional (S)upport (C)are (P)ackage', tackling *NSYNC's 'Bye Bye Bye', Paramore's 'My Heart' and Taylor Swift's 'Cruel Summer'. "We've loved playing these covers live for you, so we had to give you the studio versions," they posted, so do not be shocked if a pop cover sneaks into a metalcore set at The Gov.
RIVALS, on first
Opening is Los Angeles duo RIVALS, who are about to support Nevertel across their North American tour. Their dark pop-rock trades formula for mood and melody, which makes them a fitting match for a headliner that also refuses to stay in one lane. Turn up early. On a bill like this, the support is part of the reason you bought the ticket.
Every date on the tour
If a Wednesday in Adelaide is tricky, or you have people interstate, here is the full run.
- Sunday 7 February 路 Perth, Magnet House
- Wednesday 10 February 路 Adelaide, The Gov
- Friday 12 February 路 Melbourne, 170 Russell
- Saturday 13 February 路 Sydney, Metro Theatre
- Sunday 14 February 路 Brisbane, The Princess Theatre
How to actually get in
A single Adelaide date, a first Australian tour, and a band climbing quickly. That usually adds up to a room that fills, so a plan beats a scramble, midweek or not.
Two rules of thumb. First, be ready when tickets go live at 9am on 31 July, not refreshing at 9:04 wondering where the floor went. The fair way to run a busy on-sale is a proper waiting list that holds your spot in order, rather than a refresh-race that rewards the fastest connection. I wrote up how fair queuing actually works if you want the detail. Second, the hill I will die on: if you miss out, do not pay a scalper triple face value. A resale listing at three times the price is not a market, it is a tax on wanting to go, and none of it reaches the band.
If you are filling out the calendar before February, the Adelaide what's on hub and Ticketted's discover page are a better use of a Wednesday than watching a resale page.
The takeaway
Sleep Theory, RIVALS, The Gov, Wednesday 10 February 2027: one Adelaide night on their first trip out here, and a genuinely good one to say you were at. Tickets go on sale 9am local on 31 July, so set an alarm you cannot sleep through. Sort the tickets on the on-sale, get in early for RIVALS, and let the Memphis crew handle the rest. I will be near the back, quietly delighted when the Taylor Swift cover lands.
